Terms of Use
Last updated August 22, 2026.
The short version
Word Relay is a free browser game. Play it, share your results, tell your friends. There is no account to create, nothing to buy and nothing to agree to beyond the ordinary terms below.
Use of the game
You may play Word Relay for personal, non-commercial enjoyment, and you may share the spoiler-free result grid the game copies to your clipboard anywhere you like. Please do not attempt to disrupt the service for other players, and please do not present the game as your own work. The name, the page design and the code are original to this project and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or derived from any other word game.
Availability
The game is provided as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. The daily puzzle is generated in your own browser, so it keeps working even when the site does not, but no promise is made that this page will remain online, that a particular puzzle will be available on a particular day, or that the game is free of defects.
Your statistics
Your streak, statistics and progress live in your own browser's localStorage and are never uploaded, so nobody can restore them for you. If you clear your browser data, switch browsers or play in private browsing, they are gone. Details of exactly what is stored are on the privacy page.
Word lists
The dictionaries shipped with the game are assembled from public English word and word-frequency lists. English being what it is, a word you consider perfectly ordinary may be missing, and a word you have never seen may be accepted. That is a limitation of the source data, not a judgment about your vocabulary.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this game, including lost streaks. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
These terms may change; the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
